So right off the mark here are 4 key reasons why p3d looks different from FSX, Remember P3d is a new platform, I`m not sure what the difference in the Orbx platform versions are in regards to how Vector or global display, you will need to wait for the God`s to chime in.
Global Base + Vector only improves textures and vector data (roads, rivers, lakes, coastlines, etc.), not landclass. OpenLC NA, however, will vastly improve the landclass, and it should then be the same in both sims. (Very excited for its upcoming release! Our area should look much, much better then! )

Well, Den, this certainly explains our differences, and I will post a link to this conversation in the conversation I started last week requesting help with the "forests or metropolis only" issues I am encountering. Sounds like OpenLC will at the absolute least give me the in-between I was looking for, ie. some signs of civilization in the autogen other than forest between each major city. Actually, I have discovered a placeholder for the time being that will serve me well to kill time as we wait for OpenLC and probably even be useful after OpenLC hits for NA.I am learning the SDK and using SbuilderX. I am also doing it in a way that relies on LC and vector modification instead of just dropping photo real sat data and then still spending hours tweaking the LC and V. To me, it just feels more natural to use the LC and V changes exclusively and in doing it this way you don't have to spend all your time trying to make the photoreal look right among the areas you didn't drop the sat images. You can't get it quite as accurate but you can get the proper type of visual in the proper place and still place some things exact if you want to take the time to drop individual autogen objects. (which I will take the time to do for several things between runway 5 and our houses...) Also, just using LC and V data is MUCH faster to load in sim, runs smoother and taxes the system much less so I will not have as bad of issues with OMEs. Once OpenLC hits, I will go look at the accuracy of our area and will just tweak the Summerfield to Madison corridor to reflect any local "landmarks" that might be missing or out of place. Who knows, if it takes a while for the "new" to wear off of the editing/creation process, I may try to modify the entire Piedmont region correcting any major landmark omissions/misplacement and then maybe do some of the areas in the mountains where we drive our sportscars. I can assure you if VIR is missing, I will rectify that. Thanks to all that have replied to Drizzle as he tried to help me.Now for the missing golf course anomalies, but that is a new thread in and of itself. 2ff7e9595c
